Make the most of
your day
A few honest pieces of advice from people who walk these galleries every week.
Reserve your slot in advance
A timed-entry ticket booked online is the only way to guarantee admission. Slots open each Tuesday for the following two weeks.
Arrive early or stay late
The first hour after opening and the late Friday evening are by far the quietest moments to see the most popular galleries.
Use the Lions Gate or Carrousel entrances
The Pyramid is iconic but often crowded. The Lions Gate (Sully Wing) and the Carrousel mall entrance are typically faster.
Plan a route, not a marathon
The Louvre is the size of a small city. Pick three or four works you absolutely want to see and let the rest be a happy surprise.
